Kuala sepetang, Taiping - The Amazing "Mee Udang"

What a sunny day !
Cliff: Hey dude where are we going to?
Hanson: Visit kampung area !
Cliff: Are you sure there is delicious food there?
Hanson: Why not?
Cliff: So now could you tell me where we are heading to?
Hanson: Haha, i know you can't hide your interest. We are going to KUALA SEPETANG
Cliff: Wow..it sounds great. Let’s go!!

Kuala Sepetang Mangrove Park is part of the Matang Mangrove Forest Reserve and is internationally well known as a mangrove conservation area.
It was formerly known as Port Weld which was named after the governor Federick Weld.

Besides that, Kuala Sepetang is a rural village in Taiping, Perak, which is well known as a must-go place if you are craving for Mee Udang (prawn noodles).
"Mee Udang Mak Jah" (Mak Jah’s Prawn Noodles)- one of the famous prawn noodles stalls Kuala Sepetang.

It is a 2 hours drive from Kampar, Perak to Kuala Sepetang
You can easily notice the location of Mak Jah Mee Udang thanks to the signboard when you are about to approach Kuala Sepetang.
If you are worried if the prawn is what drives you away from feasting yourself a big bowl of prawn noodles, you have come to the right place!
The owner of "Mee Udang Mak Jah" insists of serving his customer fresh prawns, and in case you are still in doubt, Kuala Sepetang is a fishing village!

A side view of the stall.
Looks Old right?
Don’t judge the books by its cover.

Let’s move on!

The creative signboard of "Mee Udang Mak Jah". It's made up of thousands of sea shells.

Mee udang special with big prawns for RM 11!

11 unfortunate prawns that later got stuffed into my rumbling stomach.

Yes, I did count them one by one !

It is absolutely irresistable by when you first give a try on the soup.
Its level of spice is acceptable.
The shrimps are bouncy in texture and are well cooked to retain its freshness, and it's where the essence of the soup is from.

My stomach can't help rumbling of the shrimps!

Look at that thick gravy. It is fantastic!

Mee udang biasa priced at RM 7

Yummy! Prawn-licious

Fried Prawn priced at RM 12

The fresh and juicy prawns plus the crispy coating of tempura flour are already awesome, but you should really try to dip into the gravy of Mee Udang, you will definitely run out of words to describe the taste.

You wonder if you need to remove the shell?
No, you can eat the whole prawn with the shell intact!

Looks crispy?
